ROME, February 2, 2022 - 2Legal is proud to announce that its recent cooperation with Legal Netlink Alliance Portuguese member firm RBMS Sociedade de Advogados has resulted in the successful takeover by Italian Group Meteda of a leading #AI technology company in the medical sector.

Earlier this year, Meteda, leading Italian Group specialising in the creation and design of innovative and technologically advanced software and hardware solutions for chronic diseases and nutrition, announced the acquisition of the Portuguese #AI expert Retmarker, a company focused on the ophthalmology field, including retinal diseases as diabetic retinopathy.

Retmarker is one of the most respected providers of Artificial Intelligence technology for ophthalmology worldwide. Their state-of-the-art solutions for diabetic retinopathy allow very efficient and effective population-based screening programs to prevent the dramatic consequences linked to this common complication of diabetes, Marco Vespasiani, Meteda GM, said when the deal was made public.

To assist the takeover, legal teams from both Legal Netlink Alliance members were involved, led by Camillo Vespasiani, partner of 2Legal, and Eloisa Ribeiro Santos and Jose Ricardo Goncalves, partners of RBMS.
