Over the past several weeks, we have been sharing the Best Lawyers® in America 2027 results of LNA member firms across the United States, one firm at a time.

Now that the results are complete, we can finally see the collective picture — and it is one we are very proud to share.

Across 33 Legal Netlink Alliance member firms, 377 individual lawyers have been recognized in the 2027 editions of The Best Lawyers in America® and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America.

Of these, 334 lawyers are included in The Best Lawyers in America®, while 43 early-career lawyers are recognised in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America. Among the 334 Best Lawyers honorees, 14 have also been named “Lawyer of the Year” in their respective practice area and metropolitan region.

Recognition by peers

The significance of Best Lawyers lies in the way the results are determined. Best Lawyers describes its methodology as “Purely Peer Review®”: lawyers are nominated and confidentially evaluated by recognised lawyers practising in the same area of law and geographic region.

The scale of the 2027 edition provides useful context. Best Lawyers reports that the 33rd edition of The Best Lawyers in America® includes 81,620 lawyers across 151 practice areas and 203 metropolitan and geographic areas, representing approximately 5% of practising attorneys in the United States. The results were informed by 3.8 million evaluations from more than 32,000 voting lawyers.

That makes these distinctions particularly meaningful: they reflect the judgement of fellow lawyers who understand the work and the professional landscape in which it is carried out.

Established names — and new ones emerging

Behind the 377 is another story that has become very clear as we have followed the results firm by firm.

Many LNA lawyers have appeared in Best Lawyers for a considerable number of years. For them, inclusion in the 2027 edition represents something beyond a first recognition: a renewed acknowledgement by their peers of a professional standing built and sustained over time.

At the same time, we are particularly pleased to see younger lawyers stepping into the spotlight through Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America, including those making their first appearance in the publication. The category is dedicated to outstanding early-career lawyers in private practice and, in its 2027 edition, recognises 25,052 lawyers across the United States.

Readers of the LNA website will already have encountered many of these stories. Throughout our Best Lawyers 2027 series, we have looked at the results of individual member firms — highlighting lawyers whose names have appeared in the publication year after year, celebrating this year's Lawyers of the Year, and introducing some of the emerging talent recognised through Ones to Watch.

Taken together, they reveal something important about the network: deep experience and established reputations alongside a new generation building theirs.

For Legal Netlink Alliance, these results have a significance that goes beyond the individual distinctions.

The strength of a legal network ultimately rests on the people within it. Every time an LNA lawyer calls upon a member firm in another state, another jurisdiction or another area of practice, there is a client placing trust in the expertise and professional judgement available across the network.

377 peer-recognised lawyers across 33 firms give us another perspective on the depth of that expertise.

There are lawyers in this group whose reputations have been built and repeatedly acknowledged over decades. There are others whose careers are only beginning to attract wider recognition. There are 14 Lawyers of the Year, selected for a particularly distinctive honour within their practice and metropolitan area. And there are 43 Ones to Watch, representing some of the talent that will help shape our member firms in the years ahead.
