In a remarkable tribute to his enduring contributions, the CBA has permanently renamed its Legacy Award as the John C. Sciaccotta Legacy Award, with Sciaccotta becoming the inaugural recipient. The award honors an individual whose lasting impact has strengthened both the Chicago Bar Association and the administration of justice.

In addition, Sciaccotta received the Richard W. Culver, Donald J. Hubert & Ald. William J.P. Banks CBA Outstanding Mentor Award, recognizing his longstanding commitment to mentoring and supporting future generations of lawyers, as well as the Annual CBAY Officer Award for his exceptional leadership and dedicated service.
These honors reflect a career defined not only by legal excellence but also by an unwavering commitment to advancing the profession and serving the wider community.
During his tenure as President of the Chicago Bar Association, Sciaccotta led numerous initiatives that continue to benefit both lawyers and the public. His presidency saw the launch of a national alternative dispute resolution symposium, lawyer and judicial wellness initiatives, a Judicial Security Forum, a Domestic Violence Summit, expanded support for WINGS Program, Inc., and the creation of the Chicago Bar Association's Chicago Law Museum.
