GTG FINTECH Department is mostly known for its work on the drafting of the Maltese legislation on Virtual Currencies and Blockchain, having been instrumental in the drafting of the Virtual Financial Assets Act (Cap 590 of the Laws of Malta), the Malta Digital Innovation Authority Act (Cap 591 of the Laws of Malta) and the Innovative Technology Arrangements and Services Act (Cap 592 of the Laws of Malta), as well as the various Rulebooks, Guidelines and Subsidiary Legislation issued thereunder. The firm is in fact counsel on Fintech to the Government of Malta as well as both Fintech relevant authorities in Malta, namely, the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA).
