AMSTERDAM, January 10, 2022 – Wintertaling is happy and proud to support international lawyers exchange, sharing our knowledge and expertise, especially in the corporate and M&A practice which is like our second nature.

In 2021 (like in 2018), Wintertaling has contributed to The Eurolawyers Exchange Program, part of ERASMUS+, designed for law students getting their Master’s Degree to acquire real-life experience from top-notch specialists in Europe. During the exchange, lawyers from three Catalan universities in Barcelona were selected to work and live for three months with our extraordinary corporate and M&A team, learning not just from our depth of experience and insight into international state-of-the-art practice, but also from our way of life, business conduct, client service standards and approach to challenging transactions and ventures.

We feel it is important for our trainees to get exposure to the practice of law in other jurisdictions. That includes getting acquainted with different cultural and social aspects. For example, we all need to develop the courtesy required to understand and make ourselves understood when both speaking a non-native language. We are part of a bigger world and our being a member of Legal Netlink Alliance is a vital element of our broad ambition.”

One of the exchange students, Joan Coronado, was interviewed by Barcelona’s Món jurídic monthly magazine after the three months he spent with our team. Coronado’s stage was aimed at discovering what the day-to-day life in a new culture was like, both at work and social level, incorporate into his legal training the international component and acquire practical knowledge in the practice of Corporate and international M&A.
