Mark is an accomplished courtroom litigator, having spent the first 20 years of his legal career representing the State of Indiana as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, and as a Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for three different elected prosecutors in LaPorte and St. Joseph Counties.
In that capacity, he conducted over seventy jury trials, prosecuting a wide range of criminal offenses including homicide; OWI causing death; sex crimes including rape and child molesting; narcotics dealing and other controlled substance offenses; crimes of violence including armed robbery and serious battery offenses; firearms offenses; property crimes including burglary and theft; public corruption and official misconduct; racketeer influenced and corrupt organizations (RICO); and white collar crimes including securities fraud and embezzlement. As a result of his experience working on behalf of the State, Mark is also well versed in criminal appeals, post-conviction relief, and expungement (sealing) of criminal records.
Since entering private practice, Mark has used his courtroom experience to litigate in state and federal courts on behalf of clients in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury, business and contract disputes, and domestic relations including divorce, paternity, and child custody, protective orders, and various other civil and administrative matters. Mark has successfully mediated numerous cases to resolution on behalf of clients in personal injury and domestic relations matters, and engaged in appellate practice in the Indiana Court of Appeals and Indiana Supreme Court.
